Snoopy VR
Lead Game Designer
Snoopy VR is a ride based on of the popular Flying Ace comics featuring everyone’s favourite lovable beagle Snoopy and the rest of the Peanuts gang.
Snoopy VR was designed as a short LBE VR experience that allowed players to choose a Peanuts character to accompany Snoopy on a high-flying journey to chase down the Red Baron. The experience was set flying over the beaches of Normandy and through the skylines of Paris during the greatest food fight in all of history.
This half-game half-ride allowed players to feel a sense of agency by flying in a staggered formation that allow them to steer left, right, up, and down all while maintaining consistent speed on rails to ensure there were never any collisions. Gameplay primarily focused on shooting down the Baron’s squadron of fighter jets and chasing them back to their lair where players would drop items unique to their character (great pumpkins, dirt clods, pianos, etc.) onto the Baron’s lair and blow it up.
Although the project was never fully funded, I take great pride in writing the pitch and game design that convinced the Shulz family to give Dark Slope Studios an exclusion option on Peanuts content for Location-Based Entertainment for a period of 2 years.
